Bonsai is our very bossy and nosey
blue and gold macaw. Macaws can be found in the wild in South America, Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, northern
Paraguay, and eastern Peru. Their life span is around 60-80 years. Their
color imitates their natural habitat of vivid green canopies and colorful fruits and flowers. There
are seventeen species of macaw blue and gold, green wing, the colorful scarlet and the very sought after Hyacinth Macaw to name a few. Some species of macaw are endangered, due to habitat loss.
Among those are the Hyacinth, red-fronted, and blue-throated macaws. I never thought I would be
a “bird person”, now thanks to Kris and her family I could never think of my family without one. While
all parrots can and will be loud at times, extremely messy, they are also full of personality, comical, extremely intelligent
and, and will become attached to their humans.
